The Most Important Manganese Ore Is Pyrolusite (MnO2). Other Economically Important Manganese Ores Usually Show A Close Spatial Relation To The Iron Ores. Owing To The Sulfur-fixing, Deoxidizing, And Alloying Properties Of Manganese Ore, This Is Extensively Used In The Iron And Steel Production. The Process Of Steel Making Has Accounted For Most Manganese Demand, Presently In The Range Of 85% To 90% Of The Total Demand. Other Uses Of This Ore Include Formulation Of Low-cost Stainless Steel, And An Alloying Agent For Aluminum.
