Black Silicon Carbide is produced from quartz sand and petroleum coke in electric resistance furnaces at temperatures of more than 2,300oC.

Applications:
Used in coated and bonded abrasive products.
Refractory and ceramic applications including ceramic armor, aerospace.
Pressure blasting, lapping, grinding and polishing.
Gear lapping, flap lapping of metals and ceramics, glass grinding and granite polishing.
