Physical Specification

Other Specification : The 2015 Yamaha YZ450F Was Unleashed Today For Dirt Rider’s Testing Pleasure. Yamaha Didn’t Drastically Change Either One Of Their Four Stroke Motocross Bikes In 2015. In Fact, There Aren’t That Many Changes At All. On Paper When You See The Small List Of Changes To The 2015 YZ450F You’re Not Exactly Jumping Out Of Your Seat. The List Includes: A Lighter Throttle Return Spring, FI And Ignition Mapping Changes, A 48 Tooth Rear Sprocket (from 49 Last Year), Quarter Turn Dzus Quick-release Fasteners On The Airbox, Fork Internal Settings (springs, Valving, Oil Level) Wrapped In A New Front Fork Outer Tube That Is Less Rigid, Lower Motor Mount Bracket Shape Has Changed And Is Now Made Up Of Steel (from Aluminum), Dunlop MX52 Tires, Black Excel Rims, And Finally A Gold D.I.D. Chain. However, These Small Changes That Yamaha Made In 2015 Addressed Some Of Our Needs That We Wanted Out Of The 2014 YZ450F. Just Because They Are Small Changes Doesn’t Mean It Will Not Have A Significant Change In The Way The Motorcycle Feels Out On The Track. Case In Point: Riding The 2014 And 2015 Models Back To Back Proved To Us That The New YZ450F Immediately Felt Better On Entrance Of Corners. Last Year’s Bike Struggled Coming Into Turns And The Front End Felt Vague (wanted To Push) Through Mid-corner. The 2015 Sets Up For The Corner Easier And Can Be Laid Over All The Way Around A Turn With More Front-end Bite. The Yamaha Still Isn’t Going To Out-corner A Suzuki But It’s A Lot Closer Than In Previous Years. Another Improvement We Noticed Is The Way The Bike Feels Connected To The Ground When Going Through Rolling Sweepers. Last Year, The YZ450F Almost Felt Like It Hinged (or Separated) In The Middle Of The Chassis With The Front And Rear End Of The Bike Doing Totally Different Things. The 2015 Model Stays Planted In The Rear While Standing On The Pegs With Minimal Wiggle To The Bike.
