- Sixteen (16) IPP’s under the current 2002 Power Policy worth over US$ 4 billion dollars were negotiated and drafted by us like Orient, Saif Sapphire, Atlas, Attock, New Bong etc which serve as the templates for oil, gas and hydel IPPs in Pakistan.

- Our team is composed of the original core group of professionals who set up the electricity structures, policies, documents and negotiated the same under the present Power Policy, 2002.


- Made or finalized most of the model standardized documents used in the power sector in Pakistan like the unsolicited Implementation Agreement, Power Purchase Agreement, Gas Supply Agreement, Letter of Support, PQD, ICB Security Documents, Initial drafts of the Hydel & Coal powered IA & PPA. The wind powered Energy Purchase Agreement and Implementation Agreement used these as templates for which we also provided significant input.

- Our international experience includes the world’s largest concentrated solar power plant ie the UAE’s 110 MW CSP solar power plant, Shams 1, advising French firm Areva on the recent tender for US$ 40 billion for a fleet of nuclear power plants in the UAE as well as a electricity distribution plant in Saudi Arabia. We are the only law firm in Pakistan having experience in setting up a solar power plant and have the documents i.e. the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and EPC and O&M agreements for establishing a solar IPP. There is no standardized solar PPA with NTDC.

-Undertook the key legal opinion work required to establish the regulatory, policy and legal framework for IPP’s in Pakistan including extensive legal work on the interpretation, procedure and application of the NEPRA Act & Codes as well as formulation and interpretation of amendments to the Power Policy of 2002.
